As I stared down the barrel of the M16 pointed at my face, my life flashed before my eyes. I should never have followed them, I should never have listen to my friends who convinced me that I was going to have a good time. Instead, I had to contend with the thoughts of losing my life to some thugs with guns, ready to blow anybody's brains out as they robbed us blind of our valaubles. It had been a long boring day, so I reluctantly joined my boys, Keji, Oye and Deji at the club. We had only had a few drinks when they told me they had a surprise for me. i knew their plans were always bad but i played along. Oye grabbed his car keys, stood up and headed for the exit and we all followed suit. We all got into his car and Oye drove out of the compound. A few minutes later, we were having drinks at a brothel that doubled as a beer palour. I still thought we were there for drinks but one after the other, my frineds went in with the ladies of the night. Minutes later, my f

THE JOURNEY Woke up at 4 am, just to be sure I didn't oversleep nor be the one everybody will have to be waiting for since I organised this trip. Today was the day I had waited and planned to attend the not so popular but yet beautiful Araromi beach located in Ondo state, and you read it right, Ondo state. Stepped out of my house at 6AM in search of ice blocks for the drinks and to also collect the fresh, small chops I paid for the previous day. The bus picked me up at Alagbaka at 7am, with the earlier tasks checked off my list. I got other logistics in place before heading to the General meet up point for everybody going for the trip, which was at the famous Chicken Republic at Roadblock. Our bus took off at 8:35 am, and we head in the direction of the beach at the Ilaje Local government Area, which on Google map, the estimated time of arrival was 3hrs35mins and as we followed the part mapped out on Google to the letter, Akure to Ore was a smooth,

On the 1st of May 2019, I witnessed what could only have happened in places like Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja happen live in Akure city, Ondo State. It was the launching of ModelsGram Magazine, a models centred magazine which feature Tobiloba Ogunbanwo as its cover girl for the maiden edition. An event powered by JohJam Nigeria, it could only have been one thing and that's beautiful. The models on the runway were flawless, the Dj dropped the beat like its hot and the MCs cracked ribs till the very last minute of the party. Adewunmi Adesida, a graduate of Food Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. She is a masters degree holder and a model herself. Even though the event was Strictly by invitation, the Cream de la Cream of the fashion and entertainment industry in Ondo state were in attendance. And as you know, Everland was there to cover the event. Check out the pictures and videos to follow.

When I met Joy Ogunsanya last year, it took only a few minutes for us to completely get eachother. Within minutes, we were taking about how we wanted to change the world, six months later, I am writing about how this movement has begun. A few months back, January to be precise, Operation Get Equipment was lunch and the Paraphrase Operation GEquipmenT didn't take too long to surface Operation GEquipmenT was deliberate in its goals and a clear cut action was aligned with it. Operation GEquipmenT was going to provide equipments like laptops, sewing machines etc for less privileged kids in orphanages. The journey began with raising funds through any genuine means possible. We went round Akure sharing flyers, inviting people to come and wash their vehicle the next Saturday at a designated Car Wash. The funds didn't roll in as expected from the charity event and suggestions began to pour in as to how the initiative should take a new shape. It wasn't just

The International Women's Day 2019 campaign theme of #BalanceforBetter is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world. The movement dates as far back as 1909 but the United Nations didn't adopt it until 1975. It's celebrated in some countries and a public holiday is given while it's completely ignored in some others. It's been discovered that only 23% of legislators all over the world are women while the percentage is much lower in Nigeria. And this is what this year's theme tends to highlight. Several organizations in Nigeria alone have joined the band wagon to create an awareness for equality in work places and government in particular and many politicians have taken to Twitter to show their support which is a good thing. But it shouldn't just end here. If anything should be done, it's a legal decree which will state that a minimum of one in every three legislators should be woman which will give more w

Have you ever wondered why February 14 makes you crazy as a person? Is it because Valentine's day is a social event or because you personally have a deep-seated conviction that lovers should have a special day. Now think about it, why should true love be celebrated only ones a year? This is why I think it's a scam. Who is fooling who, that's for you to decide? Is it the mainstream media, or the companies who manufacture goods which skyrocket in sales on this day or is it the lover who only thinks of his or her deep affection for you ones in 365 days? My girl and I have been together for five years and never for ones, have we celebrated Valentine's day. Not because we can't afford to get gifts for each other on such a beautiful occasion, but because we do that all year round. Same goes for birthdays and Christmas holidays. Consciously, I think about making my girl happy every day of the year, so if your man only shows you love on the
